Michael Tyler Nix

Michael Tyler Nix was born and raised in Raleigh, NC and moved to Washington in the beginning of 2018. He has an entrepreneurial background and spent 10+ years in the hospitality industry. He brings a vast variety of people facing skills and talents to the table from the table. Now entering a new chapter of hospitality, he is ready to care for private ride and real estate clients just as he did for thousands of patrons he has served... in more ways than he ever could table side.

Working in some of the most prestigious and storied fine dining restaurants in the country, Michael learned priceless skills that can be applied in rides and real estate. With the special time he spent learning and working alongside the professionals that make the establishments what they are; talents were observed, absorbed and honed with his own. He was also exposed to and apart of leadership that embodies the culture they preach. His expertise in hospitality gives him a rare ability to work with many different people and provide them with what they uniquely seek. These abilities, skills and talents allow him to ensure his clients with an amazing experience.

When the COVID-19 Pandemic struck in 2020, instead of going on unemployment or giving up, Michael set out with a stimulus check to invest in a vehicle to do rideshare. It was a great way to still remain committed to Canlis Restaurant while being able to drive after work, before work and on his days off. After 4 months of doing both rideshare and Canlis, Michael parted ways with the restaurant in order to focus on driving longer and more optimal hours. Though it was not easy for him to walk away from his 10-year career, in which he moved across the country to pursue and was extremely passionate about, he carried forward with optimism. He decided that he would take all of the skills, talents and values he had developed in hospitality and provide the same service to the patrons he drove on a daily basis.

Michael quickly realized that driving people of all walks of life, with vastly different circumstances and unique realities in such a trying time came along with much greater responsibility than times of normality. He also realized there was an opportunity to be there for people in more ways than just A to B... he set out to create a safe space that allowed for C to Z to be free.

 After driving as an independent contractor 7 days a week for the corporate companies for a year straight, he knew it was time to start his own company. Starting his own private ride business would allow him to reconnect and maintain a relationship with the people he had crossed paths with before. It was the only way to further his ability to progress and provide the experience he hoped to.

Michael founded Black MTN Rides in September of 2021. He has driven over 180,000 miles and crossed paths with over 20,000+ people over the past 2.5 years. He has gained a vast insight and understanding of Bellevue, Seattle, the surrounding areas of this beautiful state and many others.

Michael has also done several drives across the country and trips out of the country. His exposure to so many roads, neighborhoods, cities, states and the people living in them gives him a unique lay of the land that few people have. Michael attributes his ability to successfully curate a truly unique experience that can result in a lifelong memory to his time in hospitality.

Michael entered the Private Ride and Real Estate world in order to help people in more ways than he could before. He strives to be the best he can be for your needs. He hopes to utilize the blessings earned in the time spent working together to further his abilities to help more people in the future. Michael believes it is our duty to be provide the best reality for generations present and yet to come. He is highly motivated and extremely dedicated to bringing big visions to fruition.
